Once I was diagnosed with depression, I began sharing my story on a personal basis with members at church or people at work - anyone who would listen.

I was amazed to find how many other people also shared in their battle with depression but felt they were hopeless and all alone.

That is when the calling on my life truly began.    In 2009 - two years after my initial diagnosis - I began to speak publicly about my battle and the results were amazing.

I shared my personal story in a very candid and transparent way and the feedback was unbelievable.       After each event, people would come up to me and share their own stories or stories of loved ones battling this illness.       It was a healing process for both them and me.

Speaking about depression and mental health became my passion so I sought every opportunity to share my story of hope and recovery.

I have since been blessed to speak at Mental Health Hospitals,  Statewide Mental Health Conferences,  Women's Conferences,  Church Events and at fundraisers for the National Alliance on Mental Illness in both Illinois and Missouri.

My story has also been featured on the website for Families for Depression Awareness and on local television stations and radio.

If you need a speaker for your next event, please contact me to discuss details.     Because sharing my story is so important to me, I do only ask that travel expenses be paid and the speaking fee is then negotiable.

As a motivational speaker, I can also design a program to fit into the theme of your conference.

We will laugh.    We will cry.    But most importantly we will learn the truth about mental health.

I look forward to hearing from you!
